Recording recital on Iphone

I need to record a trombone recital off of my iPhone. I purchased an external microphone. I could use some guidance regarding setup. The entire recital will be about an hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated

What microphone did you purchase? More and more modern microphones have USB outputs. If this is yours then you will need a "USB to Lightning Adapter" and a powered USB Hub. You will likely not be able to power the USB mic directly from the iPhone. I don't know your model of iPhone but I have heard that the actual mic hardware is much better for musical instruments than the software allows them to be. I have heard it is possible to enter settings and lower the bass roll-off so that a more natural sound (albeit not stereo) is possible. If so, you may not need the external microphone. Just set up your iPhone in a good spot and there you are.
