I have, currently, 5 Greg Black 1G .312 #2 mouthpieces in my possession.
2 regular weight
1 star weight
1 lightweight
1 New York blank
Weight on my nice digital kitchen scale-
Regular weight
Mine: 141g
Borrowed: 138g
Star weight
138g
Lightweight
136g
New York
112g
Stock GB 1 1/8G in regular weight:
142g- heavier because there's less missing!
So, oddly enough, the difference between the two regular weight mouthpieces is as much as the difference between regular and light.
Star weight doesn't seem to be different at all... is that a backbore difference? The blank is definitely just a little different, almost a Schilke shape to the outside of the cup.
Note that I haven't played any of these except the one I own, which is one that I picked from a set of 3. More on how they play tomorrow...
Pictured in order of weight.
