Doug Elliot Shank
Hey folks thanks have a question with regards to a DE piece that has come into my possession.
The shank is marked M8C but I don't know what the C stands for as it doesn't fit into my bone.
Thanks in advance
Ross

Re: Doug Elliot Shank
C means the shank is the Conn B&S (sometimes called Remington) Taper. Unless you have an Elkhart era Conn it won't fit. Get a new shank from Doug.

Thanks for the swift response Bruce.
The person I acquired it from new nothing about it and overall it's far far too big for me so I have to sell it on.
Thanks again

An M is a big mouthpiece. I play an L and it's pretty big; sometimes almost too big.

Conn bass trombones generally do well with much smaller cups.

Throw in the fact that it's an LB116 rim then it's a monster to me!!
I'm sure there's someone out there who will want it.

Not sure what Roscoe has for a trombone. It's not a Conn since the B&S shank doesn't fit.
I think your M cups are for the people who like 95's and other "oversize" mouthpieces.
Maybe the reason Roscoe has that mouthpiece is because its original owner found it didn't work well with a Conn bass.
