Glad to join this forum. I recently started playing again as an adult (its amazing how good muscle memory is!) and I decided to pick up a used horn with an F attachment. I had been using a straight Conn Director Middle-school through college and figured it was time to upgrade.
I got this horn for about $500, a Mercedes 2 Bach with a 4229 on the F rotor, and 84172 on the slide. It has pretty good sound from what I can tell and I am happy with the purchase. I'm just looking to get a little bit more information on this horn, (approx year manufactured, any quirks with the model, recommended mouthpieces etc) as there's surprisingly little I can find online. From what I gathered, its not the greatest Bach model, but is a good model for someone who is a first time trigger user.
