What Greg Black model is most like the Hammond 11ML?

I’d say a 4.5GSD, and probably in lightweight to be the most similar to a Hammond’s weight. I don’t find the ML cup to be that deep, so it’s almost a 4.5GS but the GSD would be my first guess without looking at them side by side

I have an 11Ml and a GB 4.5GS. They are "very" similar in dimensions but with rather different rim profiles. I had a 4GSD... it was deeper than the 11ML for sure.

Thanks for your responses. Now the next question is, how do they differ in playing characteristics?

Hammond is a little brighter, more zing in the sound.
GB seems to be slightly fatter in sound, and slightly easier in the high register.
My general tendency was to prefer the Hammond for sound, and the Black for ease. That said both are presently put aside...but I did use the 11ML as primary mpc for well over a decade
Hope that helps you.

European mouthpieces with less open throats! Breslmair and Klier to be precise. Going for more ease and less work...
