For y’all that have tried multiple of these more “artisan” mouthpieces, what are traits that you’ve noticed in your sound as you’ve these different pieces? For instance, I love the consistency of sound that I get on by G-A 5C, but I love the rim in a GB NY5. I’ve found that the Shires Colin Williams has many of the sound characteristics that the Griego has with a slightly more comfortable rim (kind of between the Griego and the GB). I’d be curious to hear the experiences of others!

I've found a lot of the Shires Vintage and Artist series to remind me of Shilkes in some ways. I like them a lot, but feel pretty alone when I say a good old Shilke 51D is a great mouthpiece, so take that with a grain of salt.
For my personal mileage and ranking (top to bottom:)
Sound:
GB NY
Griego-Alessi
Shires Artist
Slotting
Griego Alessi
Shires Artist
GB NY
Comfort
Shires Artist
GB NY
Greigo Alessi
Articulation
GB NY
Shires Artist
Greigo Alessi
Endurance (this is the closest category to me - they're very similar here to my lips)
Shires Artist
Griego Alessi
GB NY
Overall (3-2-1 best to worst)
Shires: 11
GB: 10
Griego: 9
so... very very similar. having owned all of them, I currently play on a Laskey 59D for solo and chamber stuff, and an Alessi-Laskey 55orch (for 1st trombone) and 60orch (2nd trombone.)
