Re: RIP Roger Bobo
I was in the class of 1956 with Roger at ESM. He was phenomenal even then as a Freshman. RIP old friend.

Re: RIP Roger Bobo
I'd been following Roger's final health crisis since he fell and was hospitalized. His daughter, Melody started a fundraiser to help cover the hospital bills which I found out about in Facebook. Sad to see a great musician go.
I was lucky enough to play next to Roger with him on contra and me on bass in the Moravian Trombone Choir of Downey, California on a couple of occasions. Hearing him and the low brass section of the LA Phil live was always an education for me on ensemble playing. My former teacher, Jeff Reynolds sat next to "Bozo" for years and famously said, "Bobo fixed my music," meaning that he learned technique, air, embouchure, etc. from Bob Simmergren but Roger Bobo taught him how to play musically.
