Bach 12 Mods

Post by dukesboneman »

I have 2 Bach 12`s a Lt12G with a Kanstul W^ leadpipe has been my Daily horn for years
About 4 years ago I bought a 1965 12 with a standard weight slide and yellow Brass bell.
It played great but was a little front heavy.
I decided that I was going to modify the slide. 1st I hunted down a nickel light weight 12 hand slide crook.
Bach had none. Nobody had one except...... Brad Close at the Brass Medic Thank you so much!
I took it to a local repair tech to have the outer slide sleeves removes and the Nickel crook put on.
If you are on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Andrew Beecher is Fantastic.
I love the lighter slide on the horn. Glad I had it done.
Picked it up Sunday am. Had a Jazz quintet gig that day, 3 on Monday , 2 Tuesday , one on Thursday and a Big band gig Friday and the horn has Shined every time!!

I love my standard mid 70s Bach 12.
Am I a trombone player who plays euphonium, or a euphonium player who plays trombone? :idk:
