Wayne Shorter

I found a set of 5 Wayne Shorter CDs from the mid-60s for $20 in Amazon. They didn’t include Speak No Evil, but Alexa tracked that down for me without too much trouble. Graham Moncur and Curtis Fuller appear on a couple discs. Individual discs are packaged in paper sleeves and look like miniature LPs complete with original liner notes if your eyes can focus on something that small. No outtakes or additional tracks.
I have to confess I didn’t really get this when I first heard it in the 70s. I think I still have Schizophrenia in LP format. Hearing this music now, it seems timeless. (it also supports my contention, expressed ever so sotto voce, that the worshippers of John Coltrane hijacked jazz in the mid 60s and we all know where that ended up, but please don’t turn me in to the Jazz Police). Great music, worth a listen.
Is Freddy H always sharp?
