Hi
I have been playing on a Rath R1 for about 7 years now and still not completely happy with my set up, I have been going between the Rath S11 and a Monette TS11S1.
I love the openness of the Monette but I just don't enjoy the rim, I feel that there is not enough bite and my face just gets sucked into the mouthpiece and I don't have a set embouchure.
I like to comfortability of the Rath mouthpiece and sound, but the upper register feels like more hard work than necessary.
Does anybody have any suggestions ? Thanks

Re: SmallBore Mouthpiece suggestions
Openness is not just about throat size. I have known lots of players who have been through many 11C size mouthpieces and continue looking because nothing is comfortable or works well.
I don't advise specifics about size without more information, but your description is typical for someone who really just needs a bigger mouthpiece. It can make high range easier, not harder.

I'd suggest a Skype lesson with Doug Elliott. He won't try to sell you a mouthpiece unless you ask, and often will suggest other brands beside his.
It could be you really need a different rim size.
It could be the aperture you need is between the Rath and the Monette.

I've merged two identical topics each with some responses.
