Mouthpiece Storage
I have a large number of bass mouthpieces and plan to have even more for a project I am doing. What is a good way to store 30 or so mouthpieces for safety and easy transportation?

Re: Mouthpiece Storage
Plano molded single pistol cases work great. The egg crate foam inside holds 12 or more mouthpieces securely in place. Very inexpensive and durable.

Re: Mouthpiece Storage
Buy a cheap briefcase and some egg crate foam rubber online. Cut the egg crate foam to exactly fit on the bottom of the briefcase and on the lid that opens. Before gluing, test the fit with several mouthpieces. If the mouthpieces do not remain in place, you will need to shim the bottom with some type of 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch thick material. When the fit is right, glue the egg crate foam (and shim, if needed) in place with contact cement. You will be able to safely store 20-30 mouthpieces in one briefcase for a fraction of the price of a brand name mouthpiece case that like only stores 12-18. I have five of these briefcases and can store about 125 mouthpieces.
