I managed to lose my well-traveled Peak folding music stand after a practice and needed to find a good replacement. After searching different websites I chose a Nomad perforated folding stand.
One perk that came with the Nomad was a black fabric carrying case. The carrying straps that come with this case allow you to easily carry it without it hanging too low (problem with the Peak case).
What I like: stand is all metal and solid; table bottom ledge will fit mute holders that clip to the ledge, substantial weight, good for windy venues and heavy books, very reasonably priced ($35), all adjustments are done with tension knobs, and comes with its own carrying case.
If you're in need of a portable stand you should consider the Nomad.
