Greg Black weights

I'm thinking about trying some of their pieces and am curious if anyone has thoughts on their different weight options- as the specifics seem difficult to find.

I'm currently on Warburtons for all my horns and like them (in particular the weight of their one pieces), but just looking for a slightly different size for of them (a 6.5ish piece). I know that Warburton does, or used to, make their blanks so I'm especially curious if anyone knows the relation between the two brands, but any information is very much appreciated.

You can play some of my stuff sometime.

I find regular to be the best overall- flexible, heavier than something like a Bach. I think the stock Warburton stuff is this blank.

Some pieces work better in Medium (larger throat pieces). I have 3 tenor pieces right now in medium for some reason, and they are good. I might like one or two better in regular weight though.

Light is too zingy for me, the piece loses the sound much, much faster and they are harder to play.

Heavy is ridiculous.

I agree that the medium weight adds some much-needed stability to the larger throat pieces (both tenor and bass). They can feel dull with "regular" throats though.

Is it light, reg, medium, heavy or light, med, reg, heavy?

New York vintage Giardinelli blank (not NY line, but a different blank), light, regular, star (same weight as regular but different shape), medium, heavy.
