Forums of other instruments?
Apart from TromboneChat for Trombone (obviously...), does anyone know the discussion forums of other instruments? I would like to read myself, and also encourage my juniors to learn English also.
As far as I know:
TubeNet (Tuba)
DWerden (Euphonium and Tuba)
TrumpetHerald (Trumpet)
There seems to be none for (French) horn... And I have not yet really searched for woodwinds before.

SaxOnTheWeb, Cafe Saxophone (Saxophone)
The Clarinet BBoard (Clarinet)
IHS Forum (International Horn Society)
Those are just a few I've come across lately and I'm sure there's more

Re: Forums of other instruments?
Need one for french horns. Those forums would be a good place to find players for a brass quintet.

There are 16,000 horn players on the Facebook "Horn People" group.

Re: Forums of other instruments?
There never really was a big forum for horn players; for a long time, there were a couple very active "lists" for horn, but they don't see much traffic any more. It's all moved to Facebook.

When their part is restricted to after beats, community bands may just not be that interesting.Mikebmiller wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 9:07 am16,000 horn players and we can't find 4 decent ones for our community band.

Don't know what it's like in South Carolina or Virginia, but the community bands here in SoCal don't play a lot of marches (the primary source of horn offbeats), but many bands here also have trouble recruiting and retaining competent, reliable horn players.timothy42b wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 9:09 amWhen their part is restricted to after beats, community bands may just not be that interesting.Mikebmiller wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 9:07 am 16,000 horn players and we can't find 4 decent ones for our community band.
