MV Bach slide compability
Does a modern Bach 42 slide fit a MV 42 bell section?

The short of it is that they are nominally the same part, so they *should*, but there is no guarantee it will fit.

Re: MV Bach slide compability
As mentioned in the other thread, I have a lot of old Bachs. Currently I have a NY 50 and 45; Mt. V 42, 45; and Elkhart 42 and 50. Slides from 1940's-1990's. They are all interchangeable. Not even a 'well, kinda.' They all are perfectly interchangeable.
I wouldn't be too surprised to learn that a taper or a receiver was worn out, but I would expect them to fit just fine.
Cheers,
Andy

Should fit... if it's a bit loose due to wear, a little piece of paper should be enough to tighten it.

Fwiw, I did have a case of a bronx era bach 50 not fitting a modern era slide. Actually, it did fit, just the thread pitch was different. This could be an isolated example, however.
