I picked up a new (to me) horn today and it came with a Yamaha 48. I am curious what the Bach equivalent for it would be?
Thanks,

Re: Yamaha 48 Equivalent
Or should we say "similar" or "near-equivalent" ?

Actually, we have to say that. Each blank is different, and even nominally identical pieces are different.
You could add many brands with similar rim diameters (1 inch or 25.4 mm).

Doug Elliott LT100/D or E cup, with the appropriate shank for your horn

Re: Yamaha 48 Equivalent
When I look at Doug Elliott's. mouthpiece comparison chart, it shows the Yamaha 48 at LT100C. The Bach 6 1/2 AL is listed at LT100E, a deeper cup. Rim size is the same. I bought a Yamaha 48 last week because I wanted to try the wider rim as compared to my LT99C (similar to a Bach 6 3/4). Although I haven't played the new Yammy outside the house, I like the extra rim width. So far!

So what do you think about the cup depth? Like my C or deeper? I haven't looked at a 48 in a long time.
