Greg Black 1 1/4G .312 #2

Post by fwbassbone »

I got a new 1 1/4G with a .312 throat and #2 backbore from Greg today. I spent about 2 hours on it today and my initial impression is very favorable. I've been playing the Shires/Pickett 1 1/4MD and the size is very similar as you might imagine. I like the rim on the GB better and it seems to be more centered. I have a church gig and a big band gig this weekend so I'll have a better sense of how it's going to work after those.

So after practicing yesterday and two gigs today I can say for me this piece is working. I'll keep using it and I have a lot of playing coming up in the month of December. It makes producing the music easier which after all is my end purpose.
