I'm planning on auditioning for some good semi-pro/professional regional orchestras or maybe better ones, but I presume most of those are by invitation only.
Where do you search for audition postings?
Do you just target the orchestras you are interested in and check their websites?
Do you try to sub in those groups and get an invite?
Do you try to get lessons with folks playing in those groups?
I've played professionally for years but have not played with professional orchestras and have only taken a few auditions for professional orchestras so I am doing research and working on excerpts. I'm open to moving for a gig, even internationally for the right job. Just need to know where to find the openings and opportunities.
Thanks
Where do you search to hear about upcoming orchestral auditions?

There are quite a few websites but the one I use most is Last Row Music.

As the founder and editor of Last Row Music, I do my best to keep a list of all brass auditions. Many of the auditions listed are for regional U.S. orchestras. What makes Last Row Music unique is that I keep an archive of previous auditions from year-to-year as well as update auditions with results.

Also, I believe the "International Musician" paper is only available to Union members. Correct me if I'm mistaken.sungfw wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 6:19 am Musical Chairs
