Pre-WWII Olds TIS Alto - Link to Chicago Symphony?

Post by ttf_JohnL »

I've recently come into possession of a pre-WWII Olds TIS alto. The story goes that it was built for one of the trombonists with the Chicago Symphony, but I don't know which one. Based on the information gleaned from various sources, there are six possibilities:
Arthur Gunther
Edward Geffert
David Anderson
Frank Crisafulli
Edward Kleinhammer*
Elmer Janes*

*Kleinhammer and Janes are both probably a little too late, as the horn was built in the late 1930's.

If anyone has any information on this, I would appreciate hearing from you.
