Any thoughts on carbon fibre lead pipes?

Any thoughts on c/f leadpipes? Butler is making them. I’m thinking of ordering one for my Bach 16.

I have one, it played great until the threads separated from the leadpipe and now I can't use it.

Tried one briefly for my C12 bass. It reminded me of a #2, but for me it took a bit more effort to get the same sound I can get on a metal pipe. I'm not particularly efficient on bass, so I probably feel the impacts of further reductions in efficiency more keenly than a strong bass player would. I didn't keep it very long. I do recall thinking that the threads seemed fragile. If you tend to settle on a pipe and keep it in for a long time, maybe that doesn't matter.

It is amazingly light.
But the carbon fiber nut? broke immediately, so I'm not sure about its durability. I asked the tech to replace it with a metal nut.

Yeah...my only thought about carbon fiber leadpipes is that I have no interest in a carbon fiber leadpipe.

The threads are simply plastic. You can't make them out of carbon fiber. I have a plastic trombone with a metal leadpipe and the leadpipe destroyed the threads in the cork barrel.
