Bach 42 “GL”

Hi everyone!!
I’m scrolling on eBay, looking for Bach 42B with good price, and I saw some of them in Japan. The model is Bach 42B GL, and my question is, what does it mean? What is GL? Is it a special model for Japan or something like that? Also the cases are different, much more nice by the way!!

Has someone experience with this instrument from Japan? Thank you very much in advance!!

the G is for gold brass and L is for large bell. unless im mistaken.

On that particular auction, the GL don't mean anything. It's a normal 42B.

I googled it, and I'm finding other hits Japan referencing a "42B GL".

As far as I can tell it's just a regular 42B. I even saw reference to a 42BO GL. Could be something that is lost in translation.

It's interesting that nonaka lists four versions of the (closed wrap) 42B: 42B GL, 42B SP, 42B GB and 42B Sterling Plus Bell. But Conn-Selmer only lists "Gold Brass Bell" and "Yellow Brass Bell" versions. I'm guessing GL and GB are those, and SP and Sterling plus are silver, but somehow unavailable in the US.

Yep, many of the Japanese stores that sell Internationally add the L on an assortment of models where it does not make sense. I have always assumed that it meant “lacquer” except for the Bach 50 model.
