Recommendations for iOS recording apps?

Post by Bach5G »

Does anyone have any advice re: iOS recording apps?

I’m looking for simplicity. I’m not interested in a home recording studio, just something dead simple to set up and use to record lessons and/or practice sessions using my phone or my MacBook.

If you also want video, I can highly recommend the Blackmagic app.

One of the biggest advantage for me is that the recordings are not automatically synced with the system library because I automatically back them up.

If you only want audio, I've had good experiences with GarageBand, which even allows you to make multitrack recordings.

If it has to be really simple, the internal voice memo app also works.

Voice Memo on an iPhone can yield pretty good recordings when placed in a good spot in the room. Stereo recording, easy to use and edit.

If it has to be on a Mac/macbook, Audacity is free and easy enough to use.

It turns out Voice Memo disappeared from my phone ages ago.

I reloaded it and will be giving it a try.

Check out Dolby On. It is as simple as it gets and makes decent recordings. I use it to record our band for later solo practice.
