Pergolesi Sinfonia

Post by confusedtrombonedude »

How is the Pergolesi Sinfonia regard to as being a good solo? Would it be better to just learn a movement from a concerto or a sonata? For context, I am in high school and the last solo I did was the first movement of the Jacob.

It’s a fun piece to study, if only for the themes Stravinsky uses in his Pulcinella score. It’s not too often that musicians are asked to interpret the same notes in quite different ways.
