Remembering my Dad.
"The leader of the band is tired and his eyes are growing old. But his blood runs through my instrument and his song is in my soul.
My life has been a poor attempt to imitate the man. I am the living legacy to the leader of the band".

My dad didn't play trombone, but I did play Taps for him on mine.

Re: Happy Trombone Father's Day
My father supported and encouraged my trombone playing. My children and grandchildren indulge my tromboning.

Re: Happy Trombone Father's Day
OfficerMayo, I love the tribute to your Dad.
I also appreciate the use of Dan Fogelberg’s “Leader of the Band” as a backdrop. Every time I hear that song, I get a little choked up. If you read up on Fogelberg’s father, it is apparent that the man worked tirelessly to share music with an entire community for decades. I think we all know some people like that!
