Pickett Mouthpieces anyone?

Anyone out there using Pickett Mouthpieces?
I`ve been using a 6S since November and just ordered a 7S for my small horn
I really like the sound and the feel

This 1.5S is the first Pickett piece I've seen, and it's a winner so far. Feels a little smaller than a Schilke 59 with a very different (and comfy) rim, and a good bit bigger than a 58. Definitely smaller than the 1.127"/28.62mm Pickett quotes for this size, maybe more like 1.117"/28.37mm (which they quote for the 1.6). I don't have calipers handy though.

For small bore, I'm not sure I will be swayed from my Warburton setup. How does the 6S compare to common pieces size wise?

I find the rims to be super comfy but still with the ability to articulate.
Some times Schilke rims are almost "Too Comfy".

Yes. I live about 90 minutes from the shop, so I’ve gotten to go and try several times. I play a 1.25 on bass, a 4 with M and S cups on large tenor, a Wycliffe Signature on small tenor, and a 7L on alto. I love them, and I have no regrets or desire to change.

I’ve had a few; they were all good but none had a sound that kept me interested.

Alas, the only Shires mouthpiece I've seen was a 5G, so I can't say.

My understanding was that the original mouthpieces, the "Vintage" series (C, AL, G nomenclature) were Shires designs. Not sure about the "New Classic" series.

My understanding is that any stamped "USA" are manufactured by Pickett, but I don't know who did the designs either.

I purchased a Pickett 1 for bass and it's a too big for me. I'm not full time on bass so maybe that's the issue. So I stick with my Schilke 59 when I double.

I played on a Pickett mouthpiece for a while. I discovered (confirmed by the factory) that they measure their rim sizes in a slightly different place than some other manufacturers, so the quoted specs don't compare easily to other companies. With the tenor mouthpieces, I found that their numbering system was quite close to the corresponding Bach sizes, regardless of what numbers they give you in inches/millimeters. So, their 4 rim is close to a Bach 4G.
