Vintage Bach 6 mouthpiece

Post by torobone »

I started another thread on the King 1100 trombone, but the mouthpiece is also interesting. It is near-playable condition, with a minor amount on plating missing from the rim. I plays ok, although I would need more opinions on this. I am not one to try & buy a lot of mouthpieces.

The writing is VINCENT BACH CORP. NEW YORK. The opposite side has a single 6.

I'm trying to determine roughly when it was made and any opinions on its playing characteristics. To me, it is similar to my Corp. 6 1/2 AL from 1974.

Thanks

late 20s to early 40s? The 6 is listed as early as 1929, still in the lineup today

Bach no letter 6. I have one just like it. They are smaller in the cup and throat than a 6 1/2AL.
