mouthpiece similar bach 6 3/4
Hey guys,
I use a bach 6 3/4 mouthpiece, I like the size, I feel comfortable playing the whole range. The only problem is that I feel the rim very uncomfortable, I have wide lips (IdK if this interferes), but I would like to ask for recommendations of mouthpieces of about the same size, but with more comfortable rim.
Thanks

Wick 7CS. You may love the rim or hate it; there seems to be no middle ground.

Schilke 47 mouthpieces have a flatter rim. They may be or seem smaller than a Bach 6 3/4. Schilke may offer something larger with a flatter rim. I have wider lips and went to a “sharper” rimmed mouthpiece. It is counterintuitive. But I feel like I get more feedback. Doug Elliott is always the go to person for mouthpiece problems.

I have a Schilke 47c4 that’s supposed to be similar. I personally don’t like the rim. I’d be willing to sell to you if you’re interested.
I also play a 6 3/4c sized mouthpiece and love it. Personally, I’m on an AR 25.10 which I love. I’m sure Doug Elliott has something that’ll work too. Other then that there don’t seem to be too many options. I feel like the Wick 7cs is a bit too wide. But you might like the rim.

I come from a Benge 12C and later Bach 11C and after that a Bach 6 3/4 C. I liked the latter very much but then I tried a Yamaha Nils Landren Signature mouthpiece. It is a tad wider compared to the 6 3/4 C. You need to try and see if it is a better match.

I would suggest trying the options from Warburton.

My MT 99, C+, D2* or D3* (depending on the horn you play) would be a good match with a much more comfortable rim. The same thing in the LT series would be the same specs but give a more open feel and better low rage.

Agree with this. An 11M or 11D paired with whichever back bore matches your horn and needs might be the ticket. For one piece models, maybe a 7?
I've never played or seen a Bach 6¾C so I don't know how the rim feels for what that's worth.

Try a Shires 11C. Never mind the model number / this piece is a great alternative to 6 3/4C, with a comfortable rim.
Otherwise - Schilke 47 is what I’ve played more than any other for 22 years of pro playing.
Trombone Shorty has played one for decades.wide and rather flat rim. Seriously underrated piece.

Marcinkiewicz 10 is another nice mouthpiece in about the same size.

Alex Iles has had his 6 3/4 copied by Schilke which will soon be released as Schilke 6.75 and will be the same blank as the 47B.

Dennis Rollins' new signature piece is also similar in size to a 6 3/4
