Euro Shank Adapter

is there such a thing as an adapter from a euro fit mouthpiece to a large bore?

Not sure how this showed up on this particular thread, but I do think they exist. The difference in shank size is small enough that it may put your medium-sized shank mouthpiece sitting way out of the receiver, making the pitch become a problem and maybe the response too. You would probably be better off with either a Doug Elliott piece; another manufacturer's piece with the medium shank; or have a good mouthpiece tech alter either a small or large shank to fit.

Yes Denis Wick make a small to large adapter

He's looking for Euro to Large. I'm pretty sure that Getzen makes (or made) one, and I would guess Wick might as well.

I have one which I‘ve used precisely once, only for the purpose of warming up the chops on my medium shank euphonium mouthpiece (with a large bore tenor) on the piece before I played a euph solo with a rather exposed opening.

I‘ll have a look back where I got it from.

Wrap the shank with teflon tape: quick, easy, cheap, and works just fine.
