Check out this Online Random Scale/Tempo/Key Practice Tool

Post by greenjambone »

Hi All!

I just wanted to share a link. I threw this application together yesterday afternoon as a fun little practice tool. I would love your feedback and any additions you think I should make!

Still To Do:

(DONE) Selectable Scales/Modes
Metronome
Prettier Styling

Also, I apologize that you have to "Reset" the wheels before the next spin, but it's the quickest way to code the spinning functionality and not that big of a hassle to click twice.. :)

It would be more useful if it displayed the scale that it chose.

Yes! That's the plan. I'll probably link to the scale on Wikipedia, or if I end up having the time, write them out and show them on the page.

Appreciate the feedback!

Oh that looks like fun... with my work and gig schedules time is limited, but I'll check it out.

Also added the metronome tonight.

Great tool! Thanks for the effort.

As a suggestion, how about giving the option to spin the wheels speparately as well as together. Some of us are not as skilled yet on all the scale types but could use the random key and tempo.

Looks great, and you don’t have to spend $20 on Joe Alessi’s practice dice.

I’ll definitely have my students use this.

You can just spin the whole tool and ignore the scale wheel for the same effect.

Woohoo!!! Let me know if you have a set of 12 scales and I can add them in the list.
