80 Trombones for $1.25!

Post by walldaja »

Went into a random dollar store and was looking for pencils to stash in various cases so I would have them. While there I saw paperclip for sale. Package was from Canada and labeling was in French and English. I didn't know the French called them trombones! They do look a bit like them.

You got ripped off. I used to buy them in boxes of 100

And yes, in French they are called "trombones". They consider the instrument to be in the shape of a paper clip.

The other way around, we consider paper clips to be in a similar shape as the instrument!

My contacts list has an emoji of the instrument the person plays next to their name so I can filter by instrument when looking to call people. I use the paper clip for trombone players because there’s no trombone emoji.
