Travelling to Vienna...
I am traveling to Vienna Austria next week for work. Are there any interesting music shops or other things of interest (besides the opera house, obviously) that I need to see while I'm there?
Thanks!
Thanks!

A colleague of mine did this and said it worked pretty well:

Could be worth a look if you don‘t mind standing?

If at all possible, attend a concert at the wonderful Musikverein (home of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra), a world-class concert hall.
And enjoy Viennese coffee and pastry at Conditorei Sluka!

If you have time I believe Rick Steves has a guidebook specific to Wien and the surrounding area. His books are generally well researched and would help with the logistics of your down time. Alternatively hit the tourist info while your there for advice.

That sounds interesting. I have 2 of the 4 valve trombones from that generation of instruments. Perhaps a visit to the museum would help me learn more about my horns.

Re: Travelling to Vienna...
The Vienna trip went well, no thanks to Lufthansa (but that's a story for another day)
At the end of it, I didn't have to go to the opera because the company paid for a troupe of performers to play and sing for us in a private show (along with some acrobatics). So after all was said and done, I got to listen to a short opera in Vienna in a 400 year old building. So cool...
