Double trigger 71H
Has anyone experimented with added 2 aftermarket rotors to a 71H? I was thinking either rotors or axials by instrument innovations

Yes. The problem with these horns is the length of the gooseneck. There really isn't enough room for a set of axials, of any brand. It is a tight squeeze for standard rotors as well, if you want to do it properly. Dependant is a much more sensible option, IMO.

Re: Double trigger 71H
I have a dependent system 71H with instrument innovations valves that the BONEYARD did for me. They work great.
Axial valves won't work for the above reason and for the fact 70 series slides are a tad narrow causing the valves to get in your face.
If you stack the valves you'll end up with a 73H (think about the 62H setup).
As far a doing an independent setup, it's possible, but length is a factor.

Wow, might have to make myself a new valve set. Can i see the back? I’d like to see how they did the second trigger setup because it looks pretty far. Are they string or mechanical linkages? Thanks, looks real nice.

Re: Double trigger 71H
I'll take another pic tomorrow.
They are mechanical linkages. The second trigger (paddle) was custom done to fit my hand. John used 2 traditional rotor setups then did the wrap himself. If you use an open wrap valve you'll have a better time i think. John also used parts from the 71H wrap.

Re: Double trigger 71H
I don't know how the length of gooseneck on a 71H differs with that of a 72H (if at all), but I play a 72H with a Yamaha independent rotor set as my daily driver and it's a wonderful horn.

Re: Double trigger 71H
They should be the same. Only difference between them is bell weight, wrap and rotor (open wrap vs. traditional).
