One of the pleasures of having an Alexa device linked to Apple music is being able to listen to hard-to-find recordings. This morning I listened to a little Urbie G, Rosalino, Kenton, and, for the last hour, Slide Hampton.
Is Slide still active these days? He made some interesting gear choices along the way. I wonder what he is playing on now?

Unfortunately, I don't think he is currently active. At any rate, his FB doesn't show any new information since 10/07/2017.

Slide are really active and try to change something for evolution his sound... He change horns... Some years ago played a horn like a bass bone without trigger... When I played with him he played 42 bach stright horn with 1 1/2g bach mouthpiece!!!
