Olds Slide Tenon

Post by FullPedalTrombonist »

I wouldn’t imagine there are many Olds parts in some parts bins at repair shops, but what are my options?

With all productions and rehearsals shut down I’ve had to thin out the stable, but I still want to finish some project horns at some point.

How easy would it be to source an Olds slide tenon to swap on to a slide of a different manufacturer? I have a .500 slide that I’d love to use as an option on a Super and a Recording without layers of tape around the slide tenon. Could a tenon be machined affordably?

Is it worth the effort to find another Olds slide to harvest? Or to swap the .500 slide parts into an Olds cork barrel assembly?

Since those model have the same tenon dimension as the Ambassador, parts should be pretty easy to come by.
